For this year of 2017, I’ve gone to the heavens and more specifically, the lights of the rainbow for the inspiration of my Birthstone Month dolls..///..This belly-button (which shows) Barbie has been transformed into this keeper of the light. She is wearing a floor-length, semi-sculpted (stiff) crinkly gown in a muted tone of her birthstone’s color, highlighted in crystal glitter. The skirt has a thigh-high slit on the right and the strapless bodice has a cut out section exposing her belly button. The gown is edged in a combination of crystal and silver glitter. Her make-over includes my realistic eyelashes over darkly-lined eyes and lips a subtle hue of her gemstone. Her blonde hair has been given loose curls and allowed to fall freely. As per my tradition, she is wearing a necklace made of sterling silver plated liquid twist beads, but this time a faceted Swarovski crystal bead in her gemstone’s color is the center focal point. Around her upper left arm and lower right ankle are swirls of silver. On her right hand is a silver ring with the center the color of her gemstone. Her earrings are made of the same silver beads as her necklace. She wears a braided silver headband with a focal point the color of her gemstone. Lastly, in her left hand, she holds a removable staff, on which rests a clear, aurora borealis tinged orb which has a larger faceted Swarovski crystal (that matches her necklace) that seems to “float” inside. The orb has a swirl of silver around it that extends down the shaft of the staff..///..{Please know that I am a better OOAK doll maker than photographer and she looks much better in person – her lips are not that bright!}..///..She would make a wonderful gift for yourself or the August collector in your life!

I am not affiliated with Mattel. I transform “rescued/used” Barbies (Kens, etc.) into my own one-of-a-kind (OOAK) creations. The dolls are “used,” but I make them into new creations, which is why they are given the “new” label selection. This doll comes to you as shown-items on doll are not removable (except where noted),but doll remains fully posable. Made in a non-smoking home. The doll is shipped in a gift box with tissue and a display certificate.
